Apple ‘Last Alert From Us’ Phishing Scam Email

This email, which purports to be a last alert from Apple, claims that your account has been temporarily suspended because the company cannot confirm your information.

It warns that all the services related to your account have been suspended until the matter is resolved. It urges you to click a link and follow the instructions as soon as possible.

However, the email is not from Apple and your account has not been suspended as claimed.

Instead, the email is a phishing scam that tries to trick unsuspecting Apple users into divulging their personal and financial  details to online criminals.

If you click the link in the scam email, you will be taken to a fraudulent website and asked to sign in with your Apple ID.   The fake site includes the Apple logo and has been designed in a way that makes it look like a genuine  Apple web page.

After you enter your  Apple ID, you will then be taken to a fake account verification form that asks for your name and contact details, your credit card numbers, and other personal information.

Submitting the form sends your Apple ID and other information to the scammers.

They can then use your information to hijack your Apple account, conduct fraudulent transactions  with your credit card, and attempt to steal your identity.

Phishing scams that falsely claim to be from Apple are very common and  various versions of them have targeted   Apple customers for years.

It is always safest to login to your Apple account by entering the address into your browser’s  address bar or via a trusted Apple app rather than by following a link in an email or text message.

Apple has  published information about identifying and reporting phishing  scams  on its website.
