The Bloody Mary email is just a silly story that people have sent around for a long time. Don’t worry, absolutely nothing whatsoever will happen to you if you don’t send the emails to others. I know because, doing this work, I have received hundreds of these emails and, even though I have never sent even one of them on, nothing has ever happened to me. These emails are just meant to scare you for no reason.
Detailed Analysis
This obnoxious and overtly threatening chain email is obviously aimed at children and adolescents. It warns that, simply by opening the email, the recipient is cursed and a violent supernatural being dubbed “Bloody Mary” will appear and kill those who do not pass on the message. It further warns that the only way to stay safe from Bloody Mary is to send the message to at least 15 other people. The email claims that sending to a lesser number will result in injury, a terrible fright or ongoing bad luck.
An almost identical version of the chain email substitutes “Mickey Mouse” for “Bloody Mary”.
Of course, most adults would immediately recognize the email as absurd and ridiculous nonsense. However, the message is aimed squarely at youngsters, many of whom may be still impressionable enough to be traumatized by it. I have been contacted by a number of concerned parents whose children have experienced nightmares and anxiety after receiving the email. Thus, the email is not simply a harmless prank.
The chain email is derived from the folkloric Bloody Mary tale that has circulated for decades. Children in many parts of the world have long dared each other to chant “Bloody Mary” into a mirror in a darkened room. Supposedly, Bloody Mary will appear in response to the chant. Exactly what Bloody Mary does after she appears depends on the particular variant of the story being told at the time.
In some, she will hurt or even kill the chanter. In others, her frightening face will simply appear in the mirror or other less violent supernatural events will occur.

She will slit your throat and your wrists and pull your eyeballs out with a fork. And then hang your dead corpse in your bedroom cupboard or put you under your bed. What’s your parents going to do when they find you dead? Won’t be funny then, will it? Don’t think this is a fake and it’s all put on to scare you because your wrong, so very wrong. Want to hear of some of the sad, sad people who lost their lives or have been seriously hurt by this email?

Annalise [Surname Removed] :She got this email. Rubbish she thought. She deleted it. And now, Annalise dead.
CASE TWO –
Louise [Surname Removed]: She sent this to only 4 people and when she woke up in the morning her wrists had deep lacerations on each. Luckily there was no pain felt, though she is scarred for life.
CASE THREE –
Thomas [Surname Removed]: He sent this to 5 people. Big mistake. The night Thomas was lying in his bed watching T.V. The clock shows ’12:01am’. The T.V misteriously flickered off and Thomas’s bedroom lamp flashed on and off several times. It went pitch black, Thomas looked to the left of him and there she was, Bloody Mary standing in white rags. Blood everywhere with a knife in her hand then disappeared. The biggest fright of Thomas’s life.
Warning… NEVER look in a mirror and repeat -‘Bloody Mary.Bloody Mary.’ Bloody Mary… I KILLED YOUR SON’ Is it the end for you tonight! YOU ARE NOW CURSED

NO PEOPLE – You’re going to die.
