“Weekly Deals” Facebook Page claims that you can win various prizes such as Airstream trailers, iPads, and smart TVs just by liking, sharing, commenting, and clicking a link to “validate your participation”.
Analysis:
The Weekly Deals Page is fraudulent. The Page is not giving away any of the items listed. There are no prizes and no winners.
The bogus prize posts are scams designed to trick you into spamming your friends with the same fake giveaway and divulging your personal information on fraudulent survey websites.
Weekly Deals is just one in a stable of closely linked – and equally fraudulent – Facebook Pages that all promise participants the chance to win fabulous prizes just for liking, sharing, commenting, and filling in surveys. One very similar scam page is called “The Weekly Deal”. Another goes by the name of “Daily Deal”. These Pages tend to cross promote each other’s fraudulent material and are most likely all operated by the same set of scammers.
