It&#8217;s easy, Click the link below to confirm your account:<br \/>\n[Link removed]<br \/>\nIf you do not immediately confirm a grace period of 12 hours after you receive this message, so sorry we will remove of your account.<br \/>\nThanks,<br \/>\nMiller<br \/>\nSecurity Management<br \/>\nFacebook<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Detailed Analysis:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nAccording to this warning message, which claims to be from &#8220;Miller&#8221; at &#8220;Security Management Facebook&#8221;, your Facebook account is set to be disabled. Supposedly, you \u00a0have \u00a0been misusing your account and someone has therefore reported your actions.<\/p>\n<p>The message then claims that you must click a link to re-confirm your account within 12 hours or Facebook will remove the offending account. The warning is distributed via Facebook&#8217;s internal messaging system.<\/p>\n<p>However, the message is certainly not from any official security manager at Facebook.  \u00a0And the claim that your \u00a0account will be disabled if you do not confirm your information is \u00a0a lie.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9162856233\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>\nIf you are taken in by the ruse and click the link in the hope of saving your account, you will be taken to a fraudulent webpage \u00a0that has \u00a0been built to emulate the \u00a0real Facebook website.  \u00a0The fake webpage asks you to &#8220;login&#8221; with your Facebook email address and password. At this point, you may believe that you have successfully confirmed your information and thereby avoided the threatened account removal.<\/p>\n<p>In reality, however,  \u00a0online criminals now have a good deal of your personal and financial information. They can use your information to hijack both \u00a0your Facebook account and email account. Once they have \u00a0gained entry to these accounts, they can use them to send out further scam and spam messages. They may \u00a0send new versions of the above scam to your friends \u00a0from your Facebook account via private messages.<\/p>\n<p>The criminals can also use your credit card to conduct fraudulent transactions.  \u00a0They may also manage to use all of the personal information they have \u00a0collected to steal your identity.<\/p>\n<p>This criminal tactic is not new.  \u00a0In fact, this scam message \u00a0is just one in a <a title=\"'Your Account Will Disable' Facebook Phishing Scam\" href=\"http:\/\/hoax-slayer.net\/your-account-will-disable-facebook-phishing-scam\/\">long line<\/a> of very \u00a0<a title=\"Facebook Team Security Phishing Scam - 'Last Warning - Your Account Will Be Disabled'\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/last-warning-disabled-facebook-phishing.shtml\">similar scams<\/a> that have <a title=\"Phishing Scam - 'Account Reported for Annoying and Insulting Facebook Users'\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/facebook-reported-annoying-insulting-phishing.shtml\">targeted Facebook users<\/a> for several years. Be wary of any message that purports to be from Facebook and claims that your account will be disabled or suspended if you do not click a link to verify your account details. If Facebook needs you to address an account issue, you will most likely receive a notification from within Facebook itself when you login.<\/p>\n<p>If one of these scam messages comes your way, do not click \u00a0any links that it contains.
