\nAccording to a post currently being shared across Facebook, you can win a Disney World vacation for five people along with $5000 cash just by sharing, liking, commenting and then clicking a link to claim your entry. The post features a photograph of a gift box apparently filled with Disney related goodies.<\/p>\n

However, the post is just a typical Facebook giveaway scam. No amount of liking, sharing, commenting, or clicking will get you any chances to win. In fact, the promised prize does not exist. And, the post has no connection whatsoever to Disney. \u00a0If you like, share, and comment as instructed, you effectively promote the fraudulent prize \u00a0post to all of your Facebook friends thereby exposing them to the scam as well.<\/p>\n

The image used in the scam was apparently stolen from a Reddit Gifts<\/a> gift exchange post.<\/p>\n

If you click the link, you will be taken to a fake Disney ‘prize claim’ \u00a0website. The fake site will then claim you must click yet another link to secure your chance \u00a0to win. \u00a0But, the link opens a completely unrelated third-party website that tries to convince you to create an account. The website promoted in this scam may vary depending on where you live. During testing, I was asked \u00a0to create an account on an online role playing game website.<\/p>\n

But, no matter what links you click or what accounts you create, you will never receive the promised prize entries.<\/p>\n

Disney related survey<\/a> and like-farming<\/a> scams are very common<\/a> on Facebook. \u00a0The scammers are able to create fake Disney pages by using periods, dashes, or other misplaced punctuation marks in their names. Note that the genuine Disney World Facebook Page<\/a> features Facebook’s blue ‘verified’ icon beside the name.<\/p>\n
