Some have suggested that the claims about a custom gender option might be just a hoax. However, the claims are true. There is indeed such an option.<\/p>\n<p>If you click &#8216;About&#8217; on your profile page and then click &#8216;Contact and Basic Info&#8217; you should see the &#8216;Gender&#8217; listing. Clicking the edit button beside the listing allows you to configure the setting. A drop-down list allows you to choose, &#8216;Male&#8217;, Female&#8217; and &#8216;Custom&#8217;. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9162856233\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>If you choose the &#8216;Custom&#8217; option, you can now add any gender designation that you see fit.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Facebook provided an extensive gender identity list for you to choose from. But, since an update in February 2015, you can now add your own in a free form field. You can add up to ten gender identity terms in the field.
