It claims that \u00a0Sylvester Stallone died of prostate cancer after keeping his illness a secret for a time.<\/p>\n<p>To drive home the point, the message includes two photographs of Sylvester in which he looks tired, dishevelled and unwell.<\/p>\n<p>However, the claims in the message are false. \u00a0Sylvester Stallone is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/5616656\/sylvester-stallone-dad-hoax-rocky-star-alive-well\/\">alive and well<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The star confirmed this himself via Twitter, noting:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Please ignore this stupidity&#8230; Alive and well and happy and healthy&#8230; Still punching! <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sgRhOguHhs\">https:\/\/t.co\/sgRhOguHhs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u201d Sylvester Stallone (@TheSlyStallone) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheSlyStallone\/status\/965630067522064384?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 19, 2018<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The images in the hoax message are in fact <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elheraldo.hn\/entretenimiento\/1105138-466\/la-dram%C3%A1tica-foto-de-sylvester-stallone-que-caus%C3%B3-alarma-entre-sus-fan%C3%A1ticos\">on set photographs from a movie<\/a> in which \u00a0Sylvester actually plays an ageing boxer with cancer. Hence the star&#8217;s sickly appearance thanks to the magic of the movies. <\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9162856233\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time that \u00a0Sylvester Stallone has been the target of a death hoax. \u00a0 A hoax that went viral back in 2016 falsely claimed the star had died of a prescription drug overdose. \u00a0 That version contained links to a scam website.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrities are often the target of such <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.net\/category\/death-scams-and-hoaxes\/\">death hoaxes<\/a>. Always <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.net\/dont-get-caught-by-celebrity-death-hoaxes-and-scams\/\">verify any message claiming that a celebrity has died<\/a> via a reputable news outlet before clicking or sharing.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, if a famous person does die, then the story is always covered by news outlets around the world. \u00a0 So a quick search of a news aggregator such as Google
