Not to mention Augustina, Linda, and Shawna.  \u00a0And Dave, of course!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what one of the emails looks like:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Subject: Kathryn just sent you $3,182.00 USD with Paypal. Paypal recommends to withdraw it now.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kathryn just sent you $3,182.00 USD with Paypal.<\/p>\n<p>Click here to continue<\/p>\n<p>Best of luck!<br \/>\nKathryn<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Supposedly, I just need to click the links in these emails to \u00a0withdraw my money, a course of action the message claims is recommended by PayPal<\/p>\n<h2>Suprise, surprise! Nobody REALLY Sent me Any Money<\/h2>\n<p>Alas, I was shocked and saddened to learn that, in fact, none of these people actually sent me so much as a dollar, let alone $3,182. The emails have no connection \u00a0to PayPal whatsoever and the links don&#8217;t open the PayPal website.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9162856233\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<h2>Links Open a Dodgy Get Rich Quick System<\/h2>\n<p>In the examples that \u00a0I&#8217;ve analysed, the links all open a decidedly dodgy website that promises to make you a millionaire in short order if you sign up to their &#8220;system&#8221; for the special today-only fee of around $50 (down from the normal price of just under a $1000).<\/p>\n<p>The sign-up form asks for your personal details as well as your credit card numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the projected income claims on the site are unrealistic, to say the least.  \u00a0In contradiction \u00a0to the nonsensical claims hyped up in the  \u00a0&#8220;must watch&#8217; introductory video,  \u00a0fine-print on the site&#8217;s income disclosure page states that the company won&#8217;t  \u00a0guarantee that you will make any money at all.<\/p>\n<h2>Companies Who Use Such Spam Tactics Should Not be Trusted<\/h2>\n<p>To get people to their dodgy \u00a0website, \u00a0the company uses a widespread scam campaign that falsely claims that you have already been sent \u00a0$3,182.  \u00a0And, it implies a non-existent connection to PayPal. So, they start out with deliberate and willful lies and then have the audacity \u00a0to ask for your money and personal information.  \u00a0Would you trust your credit card details with a \u00a0company that uses such tactics? I certainly wouldn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<h3>Don&#8217;t Click Links In These Emails<\/h3>\n<p>If you receive \u00a0one of these emails, do not click any links it contains.
