The fraudulent \u00a0Facebook Page that generated the post has no connection to Mercedes whatsoever and those who participate have zero chance of winning a car. No cars are being given away.<\/p>\n<p>The scam is designed to trick people into liking, sharing and commenting as a means \u00a0of accumulating as many Page likes as possible in the shortest possible time. By asking people to comment and share, the scammers can reach an ever growing audience, thereby greatly increasing their Page likes.<\/p>\n<p>Facebook Pages with large numbers of likes can later be used to launch further scams, this time to a much larger pool of potential victims. Alternatively, the Pages can be sold on the black market to other scammers.<\/p>\n<p>Bogus car giveaways are a very common scammer tactic.
