You have not won any money and the supposed winning \u00a0notification is not from the Big Lottery Fund or any other legitimate lottery organization. \u00a0 Nor is the message connected in any way with \u00a0Capital One Bank. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9162856233\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p> If you fall for the scam and contact the &#8220;manager&#8221; as instructed, you will quickly be asked to send money. Ostensibly, the money you send will be used to cover various fees and expenses supposedly associated with the process and transfer of your winnings. But, in reality, all of the money you send will go in the pockets of the scammers and you will never get it back. \u00a0 Nor, of course, will you ever get the promised \u00a0 \u00a31,130,883, which never existed to begin with.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the scammers may use the personal and financial information you send them to steal your identity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.net\/advance-fee-lottery-scams-international-lottery-scam-information\/\">Advance fee lottery scams<\/a> like this have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.net\/category\/scams\/advancefee\/\">around for a very long time<\/a> and predate the Internet by decades. Be wary of any message that claims that you have won a substantial \u00a0prize in a lottery or promotion that you know nothing about and have never \u00a0entered. \u00a0 And, remember that genuine lotteries \u00a0do not ask winners to pay upfront fees as a prerequisite for collecting their prize.<\/p>\n<h2>An example of the scam email:<\/h2>\n<div class=\"example\">\n<p><strong>Subject: Your Reference Number: UKL100010802744<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Congratulations!<\/p>\n<p>Your email address was selected by our automated computer balloting system. The winners are selected randomly from the internet. We hereby confirm your email address attached to Reference Number: UKL100010802744 and the serial ID: KA2C11OEN as a winner of  \u00a31,130,883.00 from the Big Lottery Fund.<\/p>\n<p>You will be paid by an independent bank in compliance with the Lottery payment transparency laws.
