Sharing the image will do nothing whatsoever to help the pictured child. Facebook certainly does not donate money based on how many times a post is shared.<\/p>\n<p>The morally debased individual who created this nasty hoax apparently \u00a0<a title=\"Baby Born with Organs Outside Body Receives Rare Surgery\" href=\"http:\/\/abcnewsradioonline.com\/health-news\/baby-born-with-organs-outside-body-receives-rare-surgery.html\">stole the baby&#8217;s image from 2012 news reports<\/a> \u00a0that discussed the child&#8217;s case. The picture depicts baby Hayes, who was born in 2011 in Houston, Texas. Hayes was born with a condition called omphalocele, a birth defect in which abdominal organs protrude from the belly button.<\/p>\n<p>The baby received surgery to correct the condition in 2012 and doctors were very pleased with the results.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9162856233\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p> Why you may ask, would anyone be so callous as to steal an image of a sick child and use it it such a way?<\/p>\n<p>Usually, they are created as a means of gathering Facebook likes and shares and driving traffic to selected Facebook pages or profiles. So, they are just some contemptible Facebook user&#8217;s rather lame attempt at self-promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind that any message that claims that Facebook or another company will donate money based on how many times a post is shared is \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.net\/facebook-sick-child-hoaxes\/\">certain to be a scam<\/a>. This example is just the latest in a \u00a0long line of similar messages that have falsely claimed that money would be donated to assist a sick or injured child in exchange for sharing or liking.<\/p>\n<p>Do not cater to the sick-minded individuals who create these scams by liking and sharing their material.
