The Page claims that winners will be announced later in the month. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\"\n     data-ad-slot=\"9162856233\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p> However, the Page is fraudulent. It is a <a title=\"Facebook Like-Farming Scams\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/like-farming-scams.shtml\">like-farming scam<\/a> designed to accumulate large numbers of Facebook Page likes very quickly.  \u00a0There is no prize and the Page has no connection whatsoever with Center Parcs. \u00a0The genuine Center Parcs UK Facebook Page, which features the Facebook blue &#8216;verified&#8217; tick icon, has <a title=\"Center Parcs UK Facebook Page\" href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/CenterParcsUK\/posts\/1168202756537797\">warned users<\/a> about the scam page in a recent post:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Thank you to all our fans who have made contact with us regarding the fake Center Parcs page.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We are in no way affiliated with the page called &#8216;Center Parcs.&#8217; or the competition they are promoting.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The scammers who created this fake Facebook Page have been able to use a Page name very similar to that of the company&#8217;s genuine Facebook Page by simply putting a period (Center Parcs.) at the end of the name.<\/p>\n<p>Like-farming scams like this one are <a title=\"Facebook Like-Farming Scam List\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/like-farming-scam-list.shtml\">very common<\/a>. By tricking people into sharing and commenting, the scammers ensure that their \u00a0bogus contest \u00a0posts spread rapidly across Facebook. The post \u00a0thus reaches an ever-growing pool of potential victims. And, by stipulating that participants must also like the Page, the scammers are able to quickly inflate their Page numbers.<\/p>\n<p>Once a Facebook Page \u00a0has gathered a large number of likes via such a fake prize scheme, it can then be reused to launch <a title=\"What is a Facebook Survey Scam?\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/what-is-a-survey-scam.shtml\">survey scams<\/a> or other types of fraud, this time to a much larger potential audience.
