After entering your login credentials, you will be automatically redirected to the genuine Amazon website.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, criminals can use the stolen login credentials to hijack your Amazon account, steal your personal and financial information, and conduct fraudulent transactions in your name.<\/p>\n<h2>A Quite Sophisticated \u00a0Attempt<\/h2>\n<p>This scam attempt is more sophisticated than <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/amazon-new-security-feature-phishing-scam.shtml\">others of its ilk<\/a>.  \u00a0Unlike many scam messages, there are no glaring spelling and grammatical \u00a0errors and the message is professionally presented.<\/p>\n<p>Phishing messages often use very prominent links that demand that you urgently click on them.  \u00a0However, the phishing link in this scam email is blended into the text and \u00a0thus appears less suspicious.<\/p>\n<p>It is always safer to access your online accounts by entering the address into your browser&#8217;s address bar or via a trusted app.<\/p>\n<p>The Amazon website <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/help\/customer\/display.html\/ref=hp_left_v4_sib?ie=UTF8&amp;nodeId=15835501\">includes information about identifying and reporting scam emails<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- HSNet Article Center --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\" data-ad-slot=\"5727909035\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<h3> \u00a0An example of the scam email:<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p><strong>Subject: Action Required &#8211; Pay your seller account balance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Greetings \u00a0[Email Address Removed] from Amazon Services.<\/p>\n<p>You have a balance due in your Amazon seller account. We attempted to charge your credit card for the balance, but your bank declined the charge.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For billing and security purposes, all Amazon sellers must provide valid credit card information from a credit card acceptable to Amazon. Please verify that the credit card information you have on file is correct, and contact your bank with questions related to the accuracy of the information you provided.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is possible that the charge was declined due to a credit limit imposed by your bank. If that is the case, we will attempt to charge a lesser amount to your card as often as every 24 hours until the remaining balance in your seller account is paid in full.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If the card was declined for any other reason, you will need to update the credit card information in your seller account. Payment will be suspended until your credit card information has been updated. Go to \u00a0<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Seller Account information<\/span> \u00a0to update your credit card.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Once your credit card information has been updated and verified, payment will be initiated on your next settlement date.
