The crash investigation \u00a0<a class=\"norm\" title=\"F-15 Eagle accident report released\" href=\"http:\/\/www.af.mil\/news\/story.asp?storyID=123081718\">revealed that<\/a> \u00a0the crash was caused by the failure of the upper right longeron, a critical support structure in the aircraft&#8217;s frame.<\/p>\n<p>The pilot of the F-15, Major Stephen Stilwell, successfully ejected from the stricken aircraft but sustained serious arm and shoulder injuries.
