There is no evidence \u00a0to support the claim that the depicted eye injury was caused by too much gaming.<\/p>\n<p>The injury appears to be a \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mayoclinic.org\/diseases-conditions\/subconjunctival-hemorrhage\/symptoms-causes\/syc-20353826\">subconjunctival hemorrhage<\/a>. \u00a0 This condition can have a number of causes, including violent coughing \u00a0or sneezing, vomiting, or straining. \u00a0 However, there are no credible medical reports that suggest that the condition can be caused by simply playing a video game for a prolonged period.<\/p>\n<p>The person in the photograph is fitted with \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nasal_cannula\">a nasal cannula<\/a> which is a device used to deliver \u00a0supplemental oxygen \u00a0or increased airflow to a patient who needs \u00a0respiratory \u00a0help. Therefore, it may well be that the pictured person&#8217;s subconjunctival hemorrhage was related to this respiratory distress.<\/p>\n<p>It should be noted that staring at a device screen for prolonged periods can cause a condition called \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aoa.org\/patients-and-public\/caring-for-your-vision\/protecting-your-vision\/computer-vision-syndrome\">Computer Vision Syndrome. \u00a0<\/a>The condition can cause headaches, eye strain, blurred vision, dry eyes, and other symptoms. However, \u00a0 \u00a0subconjunctival hemorrhage or burst blood vessels in the eyes are not identified as a symptom of \u00a0Computer Vision Syndrome.<\/p>\n<p>It is probably wise to take regular breaks to rest your eyes when playing mobile or computer games or engaging in any activity that involves staring at a screen for prolonged periods.<\/p>\n<p>However, passing on spurious health
