The message warns \u00a0that just one spray of the perfume is a death sentence and you will die immediately. Supposedly, the killer perfume has already been found in four African countries.<\/p>\n<p>The message urges you to &#8220;save a soul today&#8221; by passing on the information to all of your contacts.<\/p>\n<p>However, the claims in the would-be warning are nonsense. No such perfume related deaths have occurred. There are no credible news or health authority reports that support the claims in the warning message in any way whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the product depicted in the hoax message is a popular brand of perfume that is sold all around the world and regularly used by a great many people. If \u00a0the pictured perfume was really the deadly substance that the message warns about, users world wide would be dropping like flies. And, of course, if that were true, then there would be an urgent recall of the \u00a0product along with extensive \u00a0news coverage. But, there is no recall and no news coverage.<\/p>\n<p>Another version of the hoax warning that circulates in Arabic claims that a number of people in Iraq have been killed or severely injured after sniffing the perfume. This version claims that sudden death comes three or four days after sniffing the perfume. It includes the same image as shown in the above example. The claims in the Arabic \u00a0version are \u00a0also total nonsense.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, these warnings are \u00a0just revamped versions of a string of earlier &#8211; and equally nonsensical &#8211; messages that have \u00a0warned about various &#8220;killer&#8221; products, including <a title=\"Killer 'Crunches' Biscuits Warning Is A Hoax\" href=\"http:\/\/hoax-slayer.net\/killer-crunches-biscuits-warning-is-a-hoax\/\">biscuits<\/a>, <a title=\"Hoax Warning Claims 'Bompie' Brand Frozen Juice Has Killed 180 People\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/bompie-frozen-juice-killed-180-people-hoax.shtml\">juice<\/a>, and soft drink.  \u00a0And, there have been a series of even earlier hoaxes that have falsely \u00a0claimed that \u00a0<a title=\"Perfume Urban Legend - 'Car Park Criminals Using Ether Disguised as Perfume'\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hoax-slayer.com\/perfume-bogus-warning.html\">criminals lurking in parking lots<\/a> are using drugs disguised as perfume to debilitate and rob victims.
