In some cases, you will be taken to porn sites. In other cases, you will be prompted to sign up for scammy &#8220;get rich quick&#8221; systems. Or, you might be taken to sites that promise that chance to win various prizes in exchange for completing <a href=\"http:\/\/hoax-slayer.net\/what-is-a-facebook-survey-scam\/\">bogus online surveys <\/a>and submitting your personal information.  \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<!-- HSNet Article Center --><br \/>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display: block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-0355887770822260\" data-ad-slot=\"5727909035\" data-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins><br \/>\n<script>\n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script><\/p>\n<p>And, a fake security warning will pop up in your browser.  \u00a0The warning claims that you need to click a download link to install antivirus software to protect your system. The link opens a website that urges you to click a button to perform a \u00a0virus scan. The scan, which is completely \u00a0fake and does nothing at all,  \u00a0will then load a report that falsely claims that your computer is riddled with dangerous viruses. The page prompts you to enter your credit card details and other personal information to purchase software that can supposedly rid your computer of the virus infection.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the software is utterly useless \u00a0and will do nothing.
