Facebook Page that calls itself “The Weekly Deal” claims that you can get the chance to win valuable prizes such as 4WD vehicles, lawn tractors, and washer and dryer sets just by liking and sharing, adding the comment “win”, and clicking a link to “validate your participation”.
Analysis:
The Facebook Page is fraudulent. The prizes offered do not exist and those who participate have no chance whatsoever if winning anything at all.
The Page is a scam designed to trick you into first spamming your friends with the fake prize posts and then supplying your personal information on scam survey websites. Any personal information supplied on the scam survey sites will be shared with unscrupulous marketing companies who will subsequently flood you with unwanted phone calls, emails, text messages, and surface letters.
The scammers who operate “The Weekly Deal” will earn commissions when people supply their personal details on one of the survey websites.
