An image that appears to show a large snake coiled inside a plastic jug of milk is currently circulating via social media.
The image includes the caption “tell me what you see in this milk jug”.
However, the image does not really show a snake that has somehow secreted itself into a gallon bottle of milk. Instead, the image is the result of some clever photoshopping.
The image was a submission to a Worth1000 (now DesignCrowd) Photoshop contest entitled “Obvious Tampering 2“.
The US-base designer, who worked under the username “microfracture“, submitted the image to the contest on August 25th, 2006.
At some point in the years since since it was submitted to the contest, the image was lifted from its original context and reposted on social media without any references to its origin.
Note: The ‘Obvious Tampering 2’ contest was originally launched and managed by the image manipulation and contest website Worth1000.com. In 2014, Worth1000 was acquired by the Australian company DesignCrowd. DesignCrowd preserved all of the Worth1000.com content under its own branding.
