According to a post that is currently appearing on Facebook feeds, you can win a 2018 Ford Raptor just by sharing the post.
The post features images depicting a Ford Raptor in various colours. It claims that the previous winner lives outside of the United States so the vehicle is being given away again, this time to a US resident.
But, alas, the post is a scam. No amount of sharing will give you a chance to win the pictured vehicle. The scam is designed to promote a fraudulent Facebook Page by tricking people into sharing. Via this ruse, the Facebook page will be seen by an increasing number of Facebook users and will likely gain a great many new likes as a result.
The fake Facebook Page will later be used to launch survey scams or other fraudulent schemes, this time to a much larger audience of potential victims. Or, it might be sold on the black market to other scammers
For the record, the vehicle depicted in the post’s photos is not a 2018 model Ford Raptor. The images were stolen from a 2010 post on a car enthusiasts forum. The person who added the forum post used Photoshop to create several images of the same vehicle in different colours.
A very similar version of the Ford Raptor giveaway scam that used the same images targeted Facebook users earlier in 2018.
If one of these scam posts comes your way, do not help the scammers by liking, sharing, or commenting.
An example of the scam post:
The last winner unfortunately currently lives outside of the USA so we now have to give this Raptor away again to a resident of the USA! Want it? Just Share then sit back and wait for our announcement!
