In recent weeks, Facebook has been inundated with posts claiming that American actor and comedian Tyler Perry is giving away cash and valuable gifts to his fans.
But, as I describe in more detail in another report, the posts are scams designed to trick you into submitting your personal and financial information on dodgy websites. They have no connection to Tyler.
The posts come from a multitude of fake Facebook Pages that all claim to belong to Tyler Perry. But, in fact, there is only one real Tyler Perry Facebook Page and it features Facebook’s official blue tick icon beside the name to verify it’s authenticity.
In an effort to inform fans and try to stop the flow of the scam posts, Tyler Perry has now published the following video on his Facebook Page.
If one of the Tyler Perry giveaway scam posts comes your way, do not click, like, share, or comment on it. And, take a moment to let the person who posted it know that the message is a scam.
