The following “letter”, supposedly from Pakistan’s Postmaster General, began circulating back in 2010
Subject: Subject: A Letter By Pakistan’s Postmaster General…..!!!!!!! MUST READ
A number of people have emailed me to ask if the message is genuine. However, as most recipients would quickly realize, the letter is just one more version of an old joke that has circulated for a number of years.
The joke has been directed at a number of political figures in several countries. Another more recent version targeted former US President Obama:
The Postal Services created a stamp with a picture of President Obama on it. Subsequently, it was noticed that the stamp was not sticking to envelopes. This enraged the President, who demanded a full investigation. After a month of testing and $1.73 million in congressional spending, a special Presidential commission presented the following findings:
The stamp is in perfect order.
There is nothing wrong with the glue.
People are spitting on the wrong side.
An earlier version targeted former President George Bush:
The Postal Service created a stamp with a picture of President Bush. The stamp was not sticking to envelopes. This enraged the President, who demanded a full investigation.
After a month of testing, a special Presidential commission presented the following findings:
1) The stamp is in perfect order.
2) There is nothing wrong with the applied adhesive.
3) People are spitting on the wrong side
And yet another version was aimed at former President of Kenya, Daniel Arap Moi:
When Daniel Arap Moi was the president Kenya Moi wanted a special postage stamp issued with his picture on it. So, he instructed his people, stressing that it should be of international quality. The stamps were duly released and Moi was pleased. But within a few days of release of the stamp, he began hearing complaints that the stamp was not sticking properly, and he became furious. He called the people responsible and ordered them to investigate the matter. They checked the matter out at several post offices, and then reported the problem to Moi. The report said, “There is nothing wrong with the quality of the stamp. The problem is people are spitting on the wrong side.
There are many other versions as well.
