A post being shared on Facebook claims that Australian airline Jetstar is rewarding everyone with two free plane tickets as a means of celebrating 15 years of service.
The post, which features an image depicting a $1000 Jetstar voucher, urges you to click to claim your tickets now.
However, the post is fraudulent and has no connection to Jetstar. The company is not giving away plane tickets as claimed. Those who participate in the fake giveaway will never receive the promised tickets.
In fact, the post is a typical Facebook scam designed to trick you into first spamming your friends with the same fake giveaway and then divulging your personal information on suspect survey websites.
The survey sites will share your information with marketing companies who will subsequently inundate you with unwanted phone calls, text messages, emails, and junk mail.
Fake airline ticket promotions are very common on Facebook. We discuss such scams in more detail here.
