According to this email, someone has paid the sender £30000 to kill you and take your severed hands.
But, claims the message, you can cancel the impending assassination and save your life by paying the would-be killer £5000 via Bitcoin.
Supposedly, your assassination was orderd and paid for by an envious business opponent. The sender promises that, if you pay the £5000, your life will be spared and you will receive all of the information about the person who ordered the hit.
The sender warns that if you don’t pay up or if you go to the police, you will only “postpone your doomsday” and subsequently live your life “afraid of every rustle” because sooner or later the “order for your head will be fulfilled”.
But, thankfully, the email is just one version of the long-running hitman email scam. These scammers randomly distribute thousands of identical emails in the hope of scaring at least a few recipients into paying the fee demanded.
Our friends at ThatsNonsense.com have reported an almost identical scam message that talks about “cutted ears” rather than “severed hands”.
And, the FBI and other law-enforcement agencies have been warning people about these extortion scams for more than a decade.
Users with more knowledge of the wicked ways of the Interwebs may scoff at the over-the-top nature of these scam emails. However, such heinous scams may cause great fear among vulnerable or less tech-savvy users. You can help by ensuring that potentially vulnerable friends and family members are aware of how these and other Internet scams work so that they will be forwarned.
An example of the scam email:
Read this post carefully, since it can be the last in your life. People are by nature envious. Given the fact of successful development of your business, people (your opponent ) paid me 30,000 British Pound for your severed hands.
It’s not the first time I’ve done this kind of work, but I’m already tired of these envious bastards and your life will be the last one I’ll take or will not do, it’s up to you.
Under normal circumstances, I would just do the work for which I was paid without going into the details, but I’m going to get away from it and go on a long-awaited vacation.
You have 2 versions for solving this situation.
Accept my proposal or refuse.
You pay me 5 thousand British Pound for safe your life and you receive all the information about the customer with whom you apply to the police and thus you save your life and the lives of your relatives.
The second option is you ignore my proposal and turn to the cops, but by the same token you will only postpone your doomsday, even if I can not do the work, then someone else will do it, not within a week and say in a month or half a year, but order for your head will be fulfilled sooner or later.
Thus, you will be afraid of every rustle, walk around looking and thinking that you are being persecuted.
If you want such a life, your choice, but if I were you, I would think very well.
Tickets to England have been taken for July 28, and you have exactly 3 days to transfer money to an anonymous account bitcoin [removed]
The last time I can check it 28th before flying to you.
In the event of receiving a reward, I will not come to take your life, but will also pass all the information about your customer (Let the bastards get what they deserve) and you can protect yourself, otherwise you know the consequences.
The well-being of the future life depends on your choice.
Think about your life, you family.
