According to a “news” report being shared via social media, Monica Lewinsky has been murdered during an apparent robbery. The report claims that a “known pot addict” is a suspect in the murder and suggests that the Clintons are also being treated as suspects. It also claims that the affair between Monica Lewinsky and Bill Clinton never ended.
Lewinsky is Not Dead — Report is Fake-News
However, the claims in the report are untrue. Lewinsky is not dead and has even confirmed her aliveness via a Twitter post in which she uses the hashtag #stillhere and links to a Snopes.com story about her death hoax.
In fact, the false report comes from a fake-news “satirical” website called America’s Last Line of Defense. A disclaimer on the website’s About page notes:
DISCLAIMER: America’s Last Line of Defense is a satirical publication that may sometimes appear to be telling the truth. We assure you that’s not the case. We present fiction as fact and our sources don’t actually exist. Names that represent actual people and places are purely coincidental and all images should be considered altered and do not in any way depict reality.
In other words, if you believe this crap you’re a real dumbass.
Thus, nothing published on the site should be taken seriously.
In May 2017, America’s Last Line of Defense published another fake report that falsely claimed that the body of Monica Lewinsky’s son, David, had been found in New York’s Central Park under “Suspicious Circumstances”.
Wise to Verify Before Sharing
It is a good idea to verify any strange or unusual “news” reports that come your way via social media. A search via a news aggregator such as Google News will usually reveal if a circulating story is true. If a well-known person such as Monica Lewinsky really had been murdered, then the story would receive widespread coverage by the mainstream news media.
