According to this post you can help pay for an operation to remove a safety pin from inside a baby by sharing the baby’s image via messaging service WhatsApp.
The post includes an image depicting the baby on a hospital bed along with an x-ray showing the swallowed safety pin.
The message claims that it will cost five lakh to remove the pin but the baby will get one rupee towards this cost every time someone shares the image.
However, the message is just a nasty hoax. Sharing the image will do nothing whatsoever to help the pictured child.
In fact, baby Sri Divya, the child in the picture, has already had a successful operation to remove the swallowed pin and is reportedly doing fine.
The callous prankster who created this hoax apparently stole the image from news articles about the case and invented the absurd claim that money will be donated to help the infant each time the image is shared.
Unfortunately, such sick baby hoaxes are all too common. Some are just mindless pranks. Others are designed to gather likes for a particular Facebook Page or promote various websites.
Remember, any message that claims that money will be donated to help a sick child in exchange for sharing a picture is certain to be a hoax and should not be sent on.
