Fake Janet Jackson Facebook Page Promises Free Money and Prizes

A Facebook Page that masquerades as the official Page for the popular singer and actress Janet Jackson is claiming that the star is giving away large amounts of cash and valuable prizes to her fans.

Posts on the Facebook Page claim that you can get a chance to win the cash or prizes on offer just by liking, sharing, commenting, and clicking a link to download Janet Jackson’s latest film.

But, despite its name  and  appearance, the Facebook Page has no connection to Janet Jackson and those who participate have no chance whatsoever of winning the promised cash and prizes.

In fact, the Page is a scam designed to trick  people into signing up for a suspect video streaming service that demands your personal  information and credit card details.

And, by insisting that you like, share, and comment, the scammers  ensure that their fake giveaway posts are seen by an ever-increasing number of potential victims.

This is just one of several fake Janet Jackson Facebook Pages that may appear on the network at any one time. As soon as one of the fake Pages is removed, another will be created to take its place.

Note that the official Janet Jackson Facebook Page has Facebook’s official  blue tick icon beside the name to verify its authenticity.

Facebook scammers create fake Pages that use the names of many other celebrities as well. All these bogus Facebook Pages falsely claim that the targeted stars are giving away cash or prizes to their fans. Dozens  of fake Tyler Perry Facebook Pages have appeared in recent weeks. Yet more versions have used the names of Adele, 50 Cent,  Floyd Mayweather, and many other celebrities.

Keep in mind that most high-profile celebrities will have the official  verified icon beside their Facebook Page names.

Of course, many stars are indeed generous and do give to charities and the less fortunate. However, it is vastly unlikely that even the most successful stars will randomly give away large amounts of cash or valuable prizes such as Range Rovers to strangers via Facebook.   Any such claim should be treated as suspect.

If one of these celebrity scam  giveaway posts comes your way, do not spread the scam further by liking, sharing, or commenting.   And, do not click any links in the messages.
