According to a post currently being shared on Facebook, supermarket chain Safeway is giving free $75 coupons to EVERYONE as a means of celebrating its 50th anniversary.
The post invites you to click to get your coupon.
But, alas, the post is just another Facebook scam designed to trick you into divulging your personal information on suspect “survey” websites.
Those who participate have no chance whatsoever of getting the promised voucher.
An Example of The Scam Post:
This video from the Hoax-Slayer YouTube Channel discusses a survey scam attempt that promises participants the chance to win a Range Rover rather than store vouchers. Despite the difference in the type of prize being offered as bait, the underlying scam is the same.
Scams like this one are very common on Facebook.
For the record, Safeway was founded in 1915 so it is not celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2017 as claimed in the scam post.
