Brief Analysis
The image does not show a real house but, rather, a conceptual design for a cliff-hugging home created using Photoshop and other digital manipulation software. Detailed Analysis
This rather compelling image of a spectacular cliff-hugging house is currently circulating via social media websites, generating a good deal of commentary as it travels. The depicted home features a glass-walled master bedroom that is suspended out over the cliff face.I have had several enquiries asking if the image shows a real house and, if so, where the house is located.
In fact, the image does not show a real house but rather a clever conceptual design for such a cliff-hanging home. The image was submitted to the architectural visualization community, CGarchitect by Andrew Munoz of visualisation studio BEREALIZED. Details on the submission note that it was created using 3ds Max, VUE & Photoshop software. The artist adds that the design was a personal project depicting a house he might one day like to build in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, Australia.
While this particular dwelling is just a conceptual design, cliff-hanging houses – and entire towns – are certainly not unprecedented. The Web Urbanist website features a collection of such buildings.
